👊👊👊👊.5/5

Synopsis

Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem – he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on! He’s easily taken out a number of monsters, including a crabby creature, a malicious mosquito girl and a muscly meathead. But his humdrum life takes a drastic turn when he meets Genos – a cyborg who wants to uncover the secret behind his strength!

Review

This may have a little bit of spoilers for this volume since its all I could think of to talk about.

I finally got around to reading One-Punch Man volume 2 and I have to say for me it got even better! In this volume we got two storylines, one from the previous volume that finished in this one and one that started and also finished in this volume. The first three chapters finished the storyline about the House of Evolution, an organization created by a genius who wanted to kill off humankind and create his own race of perfect beings. It was an interesting storyline, that I wished would have been a little longer, and it finished the way all battles with Saitama do 👊

The second storyline was about the Paradisers, a group of bald men who wanted to kill the rich and create a new society that shares its wealth. Most of this storyline didn’t involve Saitama, it was actually used to introduce a new character, Speed-O’-Sound Sonic or Sonic for short. Once Saitama actually appeared (besides for the brief time we saw him at the beginning and also when the townspeople started attacking him), he defeated the head of the Paradisers and sent him on his way and met Sonic, who believed he was apart of the Paradisers because of his bald head.

Question

What is your favorite quote from this volume?

Answer

“So, uh, in other words… our boss is interested in your body.” (Armored Gorilla)

“Sorry, but I’m not into dudes.” (Saitama)
